Karen Pence, former second lady in Washington and former first lady in Indiana, has launched a new philanthropical endeavor.

The Hummingbird Charitable Foundation aims to support select charities across the state of Indiana.

Pence talked to FOX59’s Angela Ganote about the foundation and its goals. The name comes from her codename when she served as second lady–“hummingbird.”

The Hummingbird Charitable Foundation’s goal is to “foster a better understanding and love for the state while encouraging and supporting Hoosiers.”

It will reveal its first recipients in December 2025.
