In addition to being a schoolteacher for 30 years, Karen Pence has served as First Lady of Indiana and Second Lady of the United States. As First Lady of Indiana, she started the Indiana First Lady’s Charitable Foundation which hosted three fundraising luncheons which donated over $600,000 to charities in all 92 counties.

Now that she is back home again in Indiana, Karen hopes to continue to give back by starting the Hummingbird Charitable Foundation which will host one luncheon each spring, the proceeds of which will benefit one charity or group of charities at the luncheon.
